“Bienvenido a mi corazón” (Welcome to My Heart) is the second album of Irya, a Helsinki-based artist and producer known for her intense, suggestive sound and colorful voice. With deep love for storytelling, bass and Afro-Cuban polyrhythms she embraces the constant movement, multilingualism and relies on the power of repetition in music – while always seeking for the everyday magic and true love. If you find yourself dancing, forgetting the language barriers and wondering who she is, you are sharing the experience.
Together with Matilda aka Irya we worked on transforming the meaning and message of her new album into a custom-made lettering. This typographic form, beside some other graphic elements, were applied to the cover of the album, merchandising, products and use on social media.
A typographic form that gives personality to the project and creates a strong voice across all communications. We opted for using a combination of two colors to pair with the warm and lovable theme of the album. And to market the album also locally in Finland we translated it to Finnish “Tervetuloa mun sydämeen” and create its own lettering. A project full of love as the album itself, where type characters “touch” each other and keep close, almost like holding tightly together.
